Rewritten Space at 10:34
2008, Silksreen print, 100 x 70 (WxH), oririginal Serigraphy #1 of 10
This series of prints was created in 2008 for the individual exhibition held on the behalf of 6th Students’ Graphic Biennal Art (in 2009, Poznań, Poland). The opportunity to exhibit in Art Gallery Arsenal was a part of the 1st prize won by Agata in the previous edition of this national Graphic Biennal.
These prints are multilayered (up to approximately 20 or more printing rounds) that allowed to achieve richness of textures and vibration of colors that normally is associated with technique of painting.*
In a couple of artworks the meaningful quote (of Fernando Pessoa “The Book of Disquiet”) was used, as also other handwritten notes, artist’s original drawings from childhood, digitally manipulated elements, significant symbols (e.g. mandala that stands for balance, heart that represents emotional side).
* please note that among artworks within each edition, single artworks differ slightly one form another due to artist’s experimental approch to the printing process
In this art piece the handwritten quote from “The Book of Disquiet” of Fernando Pessoa is used. The lines that touched the artist treat about the dichotomy between sensitibility and intelligence and all the consequences that affect the one possessing these strong qualities.
The figure shown in the artwork is alone on a land or continent resembling shape and the tangled lines symbolize her entangled thoughts. Maybe these are the thoughts that appeared at the 10:34, or had been appearing since the time shown on the childhood drawing that shows traditional manual clock?

Formally the artist is focused on delivering the art pieces that are rich in means of expression: lines, typography, handwriting, texture, digitally generated elements and patterns, organic drawn elements and geometrical shapes — everything placed on surface of vibrant or matching color. All of it constitutes an abstract space where all elements, and therefore meanings, complement themselves and are orbiting around the central figure(s), in most of the cases — woman-creature(s).
Since 2005 the artist calls her multi-layered artworks “rewritten spaces” and refers to them as “collages of thoughts” and “emotional landscapes” which points theirs connection with subconscious matter, intuition and interior world.
For the artist the creative process is a way of self-disovery. She chooses to create in improvisation manner as it correlates well with her way of thinking and traits of her personality. She lets herself be inspired by each element and layer printed or painted, and through them gets to new ideas how to further proceed with her art piece.
This art is open to various interpretations and aims into evoking in each spectator individual connotations and sensations.
