"The Lightbody was created for the exhibition "The boundaries are fluid" for the Pool 7 gallery of the association "Grüner Kreis" in 2016. For a long time I wanted to create a Lightbody with my special technique at that time. The exhibition then offered me the appropriate setting. The room in the gallery was about 7 m high. (Unfortunately, I have to say "was", because due to the Corona epidemic, the premises were canceled, and since the end of June, the premises, in which there had been many wonderful exhibitions, are empty). I wanted to organically integrate the light sculpture into it. As if it were a part of it. I wanted the feet to merge into a kind of umbilical cord, to give the impression that the luminous body was connected to the universe. Not for the first time, I asked my best friend and project partner Barbara Kolb if she would model for me. She agreed enthusiastically, without being able to foresee what an intensive process would be in store for her. Although I had prepared several large areas of TESAfilm fabric, I had to work directly on the body most of the time. For Barbara, that meant standing still, being wrapped in plastic, feeling cramped and uncomfortable, practicing calm and patience, withstanding the heat in the cocoon...a big challenge for both of us. But in the end, I cut open the front of the TESAfilm envelope and was able to free my friend from the cocoon."
