"A small Old Farmer’s almanach inspired me for a work of art in three parts, which is called

'The weather  back in the days'. I extended it with six paintings in 2017 which I called

'Saints', where I conentrated on six motifs taken from the almanach.

The portrayal of the saints, the different weather conditions and the days of the week, which you find in the almanach serve as information and forecast and are of big importance for farming and agriculture. These traditional symbols are still in use today.

In 'Saints II' I concentrated on Saint William, (May 28th) . I chose this Saint arbitrarily. I was fascinated by the simplicity of the traditional symbols as they appear strange and mysterious to us, having lost touch with the farmers‘ culture and traditions."
