The dog descending from the wolf is a metaphor for humans. The human being who leaves the forest or life in nature and goes on; and thus creates his own reality over time. The transition at which the grass is controlled by the asphalt symbolizes people’s attempt to control the nature. You can learn more about this artwork in the video above.

Maria Pavlova was born in Moscow 1985, but grew up in Vienna, where she had moved as a child. And, therefore, it is her experience based on the identification with Russian culture in combination with the western context that formed her as an artist. She studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna, ENSBA - Villa Arson in Nice and HGB in Leipzig.
Currently she is based in Vienna.
