My shirt 1
2013, Gouache on canvas, 50 x 70 cm (WxH)
Personal associations emerge when you look at them. They show feelings and body sensations. The shirts touch, generate emotions. They are light, they literally float, they fly, they want to conquer the world, or they want to hide.
They are woman and man at the same time, they do not exclude anyone.
Movement is always at play here; it is the outer movement that shows the inner excitement.
Painting a white object is only possible through the delicate nuances of light and shadow tones. The white is thus composed of a wide variety of colours. .....?
The works are finely and precisely painted, with strong light and shadow contrasts. They are almost photorealistic and yet they have something dreamy about them.
