In Between: a Little Bit of Outsider
2014, Aquarell and collage on paper, 32 x 42 cm (WxH), framed, behind glass
The series deals with female role models in times of upheaval of traditional role models - as between (or in between) the old to the new age and the role of women between social constraints, demands and expectations. Women are mainly portrayed in search of identity.
In this artwork the role of the outsider is illuminated, it is an attempt to represent the feelings. The thornes symbolize a form of defense, but also of pain. In the background there is bamboo wood as a symbol for a dream world, which is absurd and inexplicable.
